Different ATF Filling procedures
Hey,
i had to change my ATF fluid after doing some work, and I've found a couple different ways of doing so. The one I originally followed was this one:
http://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/2756027.phtml
But i've been getting a weird kind of whooshing/grinding noise when i come out of a turn/stop with a good amount of power, which I'm assuming means low atf. the reason I'm posting is because i found this spare parts catalog from ZF which has the ATF filling procedure on pages 4-5:
http://www.rsgear.com/catalogs/5HP19FLA.pdf
Which is right? I'd like to assume the ZF procedure is correct, but there are a heap of how to's out there which show the same thing. The ZF procedure says to only hold each gear for 3 seconds as opposed to 10-30, and ZF says R-D-4-3 (I'm assuming that's what manual-winter program step shift means).
If anyone has any advice, please help. I had so much fun last time replacing the transmission pan gasket last time I've decided to replace it again (this has nothing to do with the minor leaks...). So I'd like to get it right the 1st time.
Thanks

As far as I know there is only one way to do it properly on these cars and you need VAG-com. You have to monitor the temps while doing it to get the right amount or something. It honestly confuses me you might know more haha.

Im just gonna stick to doing tranny flushes on the easy ones lol. I love our machine at the shop connect in line w/ the cooler fill the machine hit start! If you had it backwards it beeps and tells you to pull the lever to switch the lines then hit start again! Doesn't get any easier then that. Hell its actually easier then draining and filling the manual trans.
