What is the difference between the EZZ and the EKC code of the transmissions for the 2.8L fwd engine (Non-Quattro)? I need to replace or rebuild my EZZ transmission. It has 145k miles. I have been quoted about $2800 for a total rebuild of my transmission. I have found used transmissions from $750 to $1500 which depends on warranty or need for core exchange. So are these transmissions interchangeable? Or should I just rebuilt mine. I have not taken it in to have it checked but spoke with shop and told it was the transmission pump gasket which could lead to debris in transmission.
