Default Did i get it in the right hole?

Just installed a vent boost gauge and put the barbed T in the Fuel pressure line house (i think) i read in a post that it was ok to do that
The only thing is i thought the boost comes in at a certain RPM, but the gauge only reads boost when i push hard on the gas, spikes then goes to 0...so am i measuring pressure from the wrong hose?

Pics

this is where the Barbed T is

or is it suppose to go in this hose?

thanks

what kind of vacuum hose did you use? that looks like the hard stuff.
you can use either of those 2 locations. I used the "or is it suppose to go in this hose" which is actually the manifold to diverter valve.
what i did, was I used that hard line to the back of the boost guage, then put vacuum hose on it and shoved it way the **** into it and put a hose clamp ( or tie strap) tightly around it, then connected it to the T. your issue might be a simple boost leak at your T regarding that white hard line.
nice thread title btw lol.

the gauge came with the hose that is so small i had to dremel the T to fit in the hose, (bought seperatly) it was so hard to find a T that fit closely. i feel like the manifold to DV sounds like it would be more efficiant and accurate. But am i right about the turbo comes in at a certain RPM?
lol i thought the title would catch some readers

it does not matter, either of the 2 connections show manifold pressure you can connect it to either one of them. you might want to replace that hose that you used to splice for you T anyways, its all brittle and **** from the 2nd pic.
what boost guage did you get? you should be showing around 20hg at idle and full boost should be had at around 3000-3500 rpm, it will fall on its face around 5000-5500 rpm.
the hoses are 1/8th, you can get a 1/8th sized T anywhere.
I think you might have installed that connection wrong.
you are suppose to insert that white line into a 1/8th sized vacuum hose, then the vacuum hose connects into the T, that white line is the exact same size as the T, so they would no fit into each other. thats the reason why you had to dremel the thing. you need a new T too. get some 1.8th vacuum hose and get a new T.
follow these instructions either aprs http://www.goapr.com/support/boost_gauge_pod.pdf
or awe which is how yours is hooked up http://www.awe-tuning.com/media/pdf/...ge_B5_A4S4.pdf
follow these instructions and you will have no issues

its a POS sunline gauge and thats the tubing that came with it. The T is 1/8th all around btw. the tubing is the exact same size. i figured i must have done something wrong cuz it doesnt seem to hold boost after it spikes. just back to 0 or negative

Either location works fine, I would replace that hose or it could fail and cause a boost leak. At least you will be able to determine when it fails now. Probably worth checking the rest of the vacuum lines to see if any others are in bad condition. I had to replace quite a few last winter due to cold.

well i redid everything. new tubing and switched the gauge house position to the manifold - DV. heres how it looks.
the only weird thing now is that it sits at 10 hg at idle instead of 20 and i think i maybe spiked 7psi full throttle.. and for real the turbo just kicks in when you hit hard on the gas or kicks in at a certain RPM?
