Unhappy Death of my A4

Back in Nov I was on my way to work and a idiot that just came off the parkway came flying around a curve in the rain (way too fast). Well she wasn't going to make the turn. She knew it and so did I. I saw her coming head on there was an embakment on my right so I had nowhere to go. The only option was to speed up to avoid a head-on. So I did. I took the hit in the driver's side and it was hard. Hard enought that the rear suspension was ripped off the frame. I managed to walk away but not without injury. Torn rotator cuff and 2 broken bones in my left shoulder. I was impressed with the structural integrity or the car. I truly believe it save me from more serious injury. Sad as I had just got the car the way I wanted it and a total loss. A few pics-

im not mechanic but why was that considered a total loss?
I cant see any frame damage? When my accord was hit the old woman literally shifted the whole front of my car to the left. Including the frame.

There is definitely frame damage there... the cars are built to absorb a side impact by distributing it to other places like the roof and lower chassis as well as other spots. But that means it doesn't take much to do frame damage.

If you look closely at the driver's side rear wheel, you'll see it's outa whack. That damaged the drivetrain. The car did it's job, it took more damage than I did. I got close to $9k from the ins co. Needless to say I am seeking additional damages.

Sorry about your car. Hopefully insurance can get you another one. You are salvaging the mods right? Could have been worse though.

Since I was in hospital and came out with only 1 working arm, I couldn't get everything I wanted off the car. Some friends helped out though. I managed to get the audio system and a few small other things. Couldn't get the Borla cat back and H & R coilovers. 3 out of 4 rims were trashed, so I left them.

yes, i do see that now. At least its good that if our cars get into a crash more than likely its totaled vs fixing it and praying its fixed properly.

Do I sense a 9k deposit on an S5?

Sorry to hear. It's always sad to see another Audi in that kind of condition.

Anyway, I'm glad you got out with not so serious injuries. I wish you the best in recovering and best of luck finding a new car.

Are you going to get a new Audi?
