Im curious how it sounds with the factory tweeter. Did you by-pass it and the crossover network and run the pioneers full range, or are the pioneers basically acting as the midrange/midbass driver like the factory speakers you pulled were?

they act as midrange/midbass like you said. they even have there own tweeter. i was curious asto how they were going to sound also. after allset and done i tested them out. they sound not only perfect but 10000000x better than what i had

I have 4 Polk Momo 6.5" speakers sitting around. Would these fit or be worth trying to install? As is there is abseloutly nothing wrong w/ the stereo but I spent quite a bit of money for 4 speakers and wouldn't mind using them if they fit or would be an improvement.

the speakers i bought were 5 1/4" and they were a little big so then i made the adaptors. 6.5" would be more difficult to work with. i dont even know if there is enough space in the door panel for a 6.5"

And for those that are reading this and didn't know... there isn't any "sheet metal". There is the exterior sheet metal that makes up the outside of the door, the inside is just a square tube frame that holds the window. I've considered doing something like making a metal plate to bolt to the square tubing, but that would space the speaker to far back inside the door. The real shame of screwing it to the door panel is that you loose a lot of mid-bass because the panel vibrates too much.

Hmm well I guess Ill tear it apart and try for myself and post up my findings lol. They didnt fit my last car cuz they were too deep and hit the window rail. If there is enough room in there Ill make it work but if not then I guess I will just keep the speakers up for sale lol. I dont even know if they would be that much of an improvement over stock except maybe some extra mid bass.
