Creaking noise when turning

Creaking noise when turning
I have a loud creaking noise from the left tire area when I turn the wheel. I have the entire rack n pin replaced because it was making a similar sound, could it be possible that it could be a bad control arm causing the noise? I brought it back to the place I had the rack n pin done and the guy said it was a bad control arm. Also if I push down on the left front fender the car makes the noise even with out turning the wheel Does anyone know what the other possiblities could be?

Ok, Thank you for the relpy's. That will be this weekends project to try and replace that. Also would anyone happen to know a website that has a diagram on the front end on the car so I would have something to look at?? Thanks again

im not really sure that you have to buy the whole control arm kit, I thought you could just buy the arm and the parts that you need to bolt the new one in. But i hear ya on that noise being really annoying I cannot stand it, its only been 2 weeks like this but shes driving my crazy

I have had the same problem and been running on it for like 6 months...I'll get it replaced next month though. If you PM me your email, I'll send you an incredible document with replacement instructions for any task on the B5. its posted somewhere in the forums but not sure where.

Your suspension is no place to wait and see. It could fail at 80 on the freeway, or 5 in a parking lot. Either way, you just lost the ability to steer the car.
If the boot is broken, you know you need to replace the ball joint/control arm.
