LOL she is getting lifted on Wednesday hence the realignment! I'm going to 24.5gtf to help with the massive rub of the fenders! And yes only in 5th gear.

try to see if you can do the same thing in neutral. if it doesn't ever happen in neutral, you can rule out the engine.

Ok, Got it to do it today with no one behind me was able to clutch and it went away I was just coasting like normal, which leads me back to the engine with no idea what it can be!

I'm still leaning to either a DV or waste gate problem messing with your turbo.

The army has a vehicle that uses and "exhaust brake" which literally blocks off half the turbo on the exhaust side, significantly reducing engine power to help slow the vehicle down. Just something to consider.

Alright was able to get ahold of a vag-com and popped:
17913 - Throttle Idle Switch (F60): Does not Close or Open Circuit
P1505 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

I reset and now and going to wait and see if it comes back! If so next route?

daym. try cleaning the throttle body first. my friend's 525i wouldn't idle at all so i cleaned the MAF and it idled fine. basically, it's a switch on the TB that tells the TB to stay partially open so the car can idle when you're off the gas peddle. since it's happening intermittently, it may just be dirty. since you have the 1.8t you can easily access the TB
