Couple of questions(CV/Brakes related)

diablo9861, he definitely had the axles spec''ced for his engine code (AWM FWD Passat). German said that they had problems with the quality of some of the axles and it appears that quality problem is growing. Personally as long as it is just your CV joint, at this point after what we went through, I'd say get the rebuild and reuse your OEM shaft. As I stated earlier though, I bought two of those same axles last year for my 30v qm (AHA engine) and have had zero problems so far. It may be a problem specifically with that particular axle model number, or it could be spreading throughout. I don't know about that. But the rebuild was a piece of cake and reuses the OEM shaft (a shaft that I think Auditech79 said costs many hundreds of dollars through Audi - there's your quality axle right there and you already have it). Just replace the joint and drive away knowing you're in good shape.
