Coolant tank question
So - I have a 98.5 1.8t and my coolant tank is a nasty shade of yellow. If I was to get a brand new one from the dealer, would it be white, or is that only for the newer b5's? The plug on the bottom of my tank is a D shape, whereas everytime I try and buy a white one, there is an O shape connection. [:@]Does anybody have a post facelift b5 with a D shape connection on their coolant tank?

RE: Coolant tank question
They both should work, I have a 96 and the guy I bought it from got a replacement tank bc the original was leaking. He ordered the wrong tank (there was a spot for a screw that wasnt there) but it still worked. I had to order a new cap bc the new one doesnt ocome with a cap. It fit fine, but it said G12 on it, when the original coolant for the 96 was G11, which is how I know for a fact he ordered the wrong part.

RE: Coolant tank question
I think they all have G12 on them. I made sure I ordered mine for a 96 from http://www.autohausaz.com/I think I paid $26 for it. About the Blue Antifreeze. They quit making the green so I got the blue till I do the timing belt and then I'll flush it and use the G12. Blue is Pentosin G001100 and it mixed fine with the green even though they say not to mix them.
