Coolant Question
So today I opened my coolant reservoir to check it out i noticed a build up of crude on the cap and along the inner walls of the reservoir. The level is just below the min level so i was able to get a finger in there. That revieled what i believe to be a yellow coolant. Knowing that i should be pink.. Which would probably explain the deposits on the cap and walls.. Correct?? So tommorrow i will be draining it and filling with g12. My question is would running distilled water through the system a few times be suffcient enought to flush it all out. Any advice would help. Thanks btw.. 1997 1.8t Q

yea drain it, fill it with water (doesnt really have to be distilled as long as its clean water, its only going to be in there for 20 minuits) run the car up to operating temperature, drain the water out, i would repeat that again just to be sure, then drain it and fill it with G12.
obviously dont run the car up to 185*, drain the coolant then immediately fill it with 60* tap water, you dont want to risk warping or cracking anything from the thermal shock.
