gotta take that off for some accuracy. but since you feel drivers side. thats there the coolant tank is, its three? torx just take them off and give the tank a peek. you will see a crack if there is one.

also where the coolant hoses are, the drain screw is, w/p iirc, when my coolant flange on the back of the head was leaking it poured there more than anywhere else

A cheaper source for G12 is Chevron/Texaco Havoline Extended Life. Product Data sheet says it is VW approved and meets G12
