Default Coolant Leak

I have a 2001 2.8 and Im leaking coolant from behind the drivers side cylinder head and it is evaporating when the engine heats up. Does anyone know where this could be coming from and what parts i would need to fix it?

Only real culprit I can think of us the coolant crossover pipe (the pipe that also seats the coolant temp sensor).

Maybe the pipe #20, but 3 of the #13 O rings and one #16 o ring is what you'd need.

Hah, I've got a coolant leak from that same crossover tube, but on the front of the passenger side head. I'm going to be tackling this in the next week or so. If you haven't done it yet, I'll try to post up some basic steps that I did.

Cool

Most front engine coolant leaks I've found come from the o-ring on part #56 of the diagram. Yes, this is the thermostat cover which requires removing the timing belt, which requires swinging the whole front end out.

This whole process is actually pretty easy and there are many write ups on timing belt changes. Any kind of leak that is deep in on the front will be far easier to locate and fix with the front end swung off the car....

The other thing you should look at is that is also the location where the coolant resevoir overflow let's off pressure. If so, either you have too much pressure (think head gasket, though that's not a common problem on that motor) or maybe even the cap has gotten weak and is blowing off pressure at too low a point.

My 2.8 resevoir tends to drop coolant right on top of the driver's side secondary air combination valve on the back of the head. Its the silver looking round valve right below the resevoir. So you see any coolant residue there?
