Default Connector Identification Help

Just had the rad support and front end torn apart. Now putting it back together it will not start, no fuel at the injectors or spark. Pump primes fine and cranks fine. Coolant temp and level are hooked up. Did find one green connector that is on the same harness that comes out in front of the driver side door and runs down the fender apron. It's the same harness that has the AC fan, AC clutch connectors on it (green and beige). There is the second, larger connector and we cant remember where it was hooked into. Looked high and low but did not find another empty-ended connector. Just wanna get everything hooked up before I go looking at crank and cam position sensors.

It's a 96 2.8L 12v 5MQ.

Would somebody do me a solid and see where this connector goes? Attached pic. Thanks in advanced.

I have the same engine, looked at mine and still havent connected it to anything. Pretty sure it's wired into my headlights somewhere. At any rate that's not your issue.

Also, after my ridiculous farce with my 12v rebuild etc.. I too had no spark, ended up being a combination of ICM and ECU, could be a number of things for you, just thought I'd throw that out there.

check to see if ur crank position sensor is hooked up... that could be one of the missing connectors ur talking about... also it should be color coded so just keep looking around for loose wires hanging around.. you'll find it eventually u just gotta look harder... maybe try looking from under the car

Thanks guys. I've looked high and low and there is no sign of the other end.

The car sat for about a month but ran fine before I parked it. The scanner is able to read just about everything except crank position so maybe that is it.. but then again VAG Com was never able to read it even when it was running.

haha i have a 12v too... im telling u, u gotta look harder... on these vw's and audis everything is packed in a tight space so it might be hiding behind something... check behind things or take stuff out to get a better view..

The car is an hour and a half away. I need to figure it out before I go back down there to work on it otherwise I'll spend another weekend dicking around looking for it. I appreciate your response brother. Thanks a bunch.
