Exclamation confused and really shitting bricks... lol

Okay ppl... i have a 98 A4 quattro 2.8QM. I recently was in a front end collision and decided to buy my car back from the insurance and fix it... now i have the front end off since its all gonna basically have to be replaced but the only damaged to the motor was that it bent the power steering pulley... so i disconnected the acc. belt and tried starting it real quick to make sure everything is okay with the motor.
It turns over fine with no strange noises or anything but wont fire up. now im thinking its because i dont have the sensors or whatever it could be in the front hooked up or i fear the worse that it somehow jumped timing (( since ive already gone down that road once, im praying its just a sensor or something just not being plugged in. i looked where the timing belt rides and i didint see anything that couldve caused that problem.

I NEED HELP!!!

This, but check timing first. In fact that's the very first thing you should've checked before even trying to turn the motor over.
