Cold Start Oil Circulation
When I crank her over in the morning, The top end isnt getting any oil for about 2 seconds. I hate the sound, I hate the damage its causing, its gross haha
I am running 0w40, as per audis reccomendation. I am going to do an oil change in the next week or so to 10w30.
Besides an electric oil pump, what can I do to prevent this????

ive often wondered about the same thing. different viscosity oils havent made any difference in mine. the only way i can get it to NOT do it is to crank the engine and turn the key off before the motor actually starts. if i do that about 5 or 6 times theres enough oil circulated to sound like a normal engine when it starts. but i feel your pain. its a terrible noise.

GAHHHHHH someone chime in haha but thanks for that! Only gripe i have with that is my starter taking the beating. (225,xxx miles)
Seafoam is definitely going in my oil to hopefully clean out any gunk. There was an old recipe for ATF/oil if anyone has it.
Could valve lash help me out? She runs great, starts right up, good vaccum, good boost, pulls like she should. Just this sound is going to be the death of me! lol

yea ive tried everything from super thin oil, to sea-foaminging the crankcase, oil stabilizer, full on engine flush, and nothing. i just keep good quality oil in it and change it often and learned to deal with it. make your exhaust loud like mine and you wont have to listen to your engine

Fwiw, I had a similar issue my old 1.8t, it went away after replacing the cam chain tensioner(CCT devil mentioned).
