Default Coilover Suggestion

I have a '96 A4 2.8 quattro and want to lower her an inch or two for the summer. I'm overwhelmed as of right now looking at different brands and types, so I figured I'd ask for suggestions from you guys. What's the best out there? Thanks!

Why get coilovers if you only want to lower an inch or two? Why only an inch or two?

What do you suggest I should do if I only want to lower my car a max of 2 inches? I'd want to be able to raise it during the winter for snow clearance, but I'm not entirely sure what else I could do to it. I don't really like Audi's that are too low, ya know?

Nope, I don't know how that is. Two inches lower wouldn't be too much of a problem during winter. Why not just get struts and springs if that's all you want?

http://forums.fourtitude.com/zerothread?id=4344211 that seems like it'd be a good buy for you.

Aha, different strokes for different folks I guess. Thanks for the suggestions, how low is your car? How low would I have to make my car to justify the purchase of coilovers?

My car is probably a bit low for your likings I went a little lower since that picture but my ground to fender measurements are ~22.8". If you're going more for looks than performance (which I am assuming you are with your 12v), I wouldn't get coilovers unless you decide you might want to lower it at least maybe 2.5". A spring and strut combination would be cheaper and you'd probably be satisfied with it.

That's extremely low. I like low, but I also like to see the whole tire . I'd love to get some improved handling by lowering my car, but if 2 inches isn't enough to make that much of a difference, I'll probably pass on the coilovers then. Thanks for your help dude.

Ive been looking around for coilovers too. People don't get coilovers only to slam their cars... I was gonna do a decent drop. I started looking at V-Maxx but people say they arent that good so I started looking at Tein or Ksport but there arent many reviews on them. I would really like to use coilovers that have adjustible camber, shocks, and ride height. You can only adjust the height with the V-maxx coils.

You will definitely get improved handling from springs and struts. You just won't have the ability to tune the suspension to exactly how you want like you could have with some (pricey) coilovers.

EDIT: I'm on v-maxx. I don't think there are any coilovers for our cars that come with anything you can adjust the camber with.

do lowering springs help with handling? or are they purely just for looks?..i have a stock susp. setup and would like a sportier ride but dont want to pay 1000+ for coilovers.
