Default Coil Pack Failure

How long do coil packs last? I have a full collection of them.

10/03 all replaced - 1 died - recall paid - 28K
3/08 all replaced - 3 died -86K
12/10 all replaced - 2 died -103K

What am I doing wrong that these are failing?

The new coil packs shouldn't fail,i asume you had the old packs replaced in the recall. I had mine done when a coil pack was misfiring, never had a issue with them since.

Well another coil pack died today. 110K miles. I now keep spares in my trunk. Assume they only last 35K.

They should all be replace at the same time with new sparks if they have been in there a while. Always use the dealer parts , no aftermarket china junk!

If you see signs of the coils melting you could have a bad ECM.
