Just remember to check for power on one side of the connecter with engine running. Would hate to see you replace a part for a voltage supply problem.

I'm more worried now that we are dealing with cam issues that I have valves meeting pistons and that's the knocking sound lol!

The description says (Open Circuit) which usually = electrical fault. The ecm is seeing an open circuit.

yes but if it is faulty anyway electrical or mechanical correct me if I'm wrong but the adjuster isn't working then the placement could be off causing the cam to be off...

Yes it is possible. The camshaft adjustment is load & rpm dependent. There is no adjustment at idle. If you are hearing a noise from the top end at idle i would pull off the valve cover & make sure the camshaft adjuster blocks are not worn. If they are you will be replacing the adjuster.

Lol! I don't have time right now. To be honest with you it will likely be 3-4 months before I figure out what I'm going to do with it. I have a CQ in my garage right now the sat for 6 months. Then in a week I pulled the head had it milled and pulled the block all but from the motor mounts. That was 2 months ago and I haven't done anything to it! I work 72+ hrs a week plus a family, cars get worked on when I have time to or when I have money and send them away!

Ok did a compression test. all are 100-105 which is good they are all the same but bad that they are all that low. According to some googling it looks like I could get low readings do to the timing be off which is possible since the cam ten failed. looks like next option would be to find and replace. I won't be off again till sometime next week so we will see then!
