Default clutch pedal stuck?

so I was driving my 1997 Audi A4 5 speed. when out of no where at the light the clutch pedal would not come back up. I used my foot to bring it back up, and since that one and only time it has been working fine. any ideas? I checked to see if it was hydraulic or a cable and did not find a reservoir for fluid. so I'm assuming its a cable? any one have/had/know what to do? last thing i want is for it to go when driving to work or something. Thanks

You have a hydraulic clutch system. The system uses brake fluid/reservoir.

Not really sure what happened to you. Seems like a very odd problem

Since the brake fluid is used for hydraulic clutch fluid, that is the reservoir.
