Yes and no. DMFs are balanced (as are all flywheels). I realize it's usually a negligible amount removed, but there's not really a way to properly re-balance a DMF (unless there is and I've just never heard of it). Dealer is always by the book. When it comes to Porsche, Audi, VW, that's not always such a bad thing.
Well you are in the business of working on "stock" cars. There are companies in business of dealing with this stuff which is why they are the ones that resurface the flywheels and the dealer doesn't. This is exactly why South Bend, which happens to be a Clutch Company offers resurfacing of the dual mass flywheel.

Well, I was anyway. I am on a hiatus from full-time wrenching. Business opportunities presented elsewhere, but I'm not giving up my tools or my car habit. Or the occasional side job to help pay for my habit.
