cluster display
so the problem is that when it is cold outside it works perfect ( i can ready everything and there is no cut offs of any kind), but when the weather gets warmer the display just takes a ****. it isnt as bright as in cold weather and fades in some places which makes it very hard to read. is there a way to fix it or do i need to get a new cluster?

Last I heard there was a recall on the clusters, but I'm not sure of the year that applies to. In any case, those clusters are expensive to replace and pretty much unfixable...atleast when it comes to pixilating. Just check and see if the recall applies to you.

Mine does the same thing. There is a ribbon cable on the back of the instrument cluster that powers the LCD display, and with warmer temperatures the bonding on this ribbon cable allows it to come loose enough so that it doesn't make proper contact with the unit.
I found this on a forum a few weeks ago, but I have yet to give it a try. The basic idea is to add some double sided tape or rubber to the underside of the metal plate holding the display onto the unit, so that the cable makes better, more consistent contact:
Step 1: Take out the instrument cluster.
Step 2: Disconnect the plugs.
Step 3: Remove the remaining plugs.
Step 4: Remove the cover. Take out the screws and snap open the cover.
