OEM style

means that the hood is like OEM (no scoops, no fancy lines, etc..) the hood looks oem...

now even over the hood latch i personally recomend hood pins. where the latch gets bolted to. its been known for the screws to come loose in the CF. then bam. you got hood in your windshield

(happened to me once)

Never thought of that, maybe that's why they have the disclaimer. I guess the latch bolts should be checked for tightness on a regular basis.

What brand was the hood?

Thanks

Does anyone have some pics of a cf hood on a silver a4? Ive gotta replace my hood after an accident too and have been playing with the idea of a cf one.

My car is silver too, I just assumed it would look, but I'd like to see some pics as well.

There are cf hoods that are woven with silver fibers, so the whole hood is silver but it still looks like a cf hood because it wasn't just painted as one piece. I think one of those would look pretty hot. What do you guys think?

Also, any recommended brands or any brands to stay away from?

It is not silver fiber, it is a silver metal strand and is very well known to yellow very quickly when placed in the sun too long. This is why most CF shops wont use it anymore.

I sell CF hoods made by Fiber Images. They only make a OEM type of CF hood, no longer make the vented hood that you see on my car.

BTW Google search is your friend LOL

Wow, didn't know that. How long do cf hoods generally last in terms of fading? Once they start to fade is there a way to restore them?
