Central locking pump issue....HELP!!!
Hi I'm new here and would appreciate any help.
I recently bought my first Audi. I've got the A4 2.4 1998. I knew when I bought it it had a faulty central locking pump as doors would not lock/unlock etc. I ended up buying one from a car that was being broken for spares (as fully working). I fitted this to my car and low and behold the doors lock.... great! Until I came to unlock it... I ended up getting into the car by going in via the boot and disconnecting then re-connecting the central locking pump. This worked, when I locked it again it would not unlock same as before (you can feel the pump working but not unlocking the doors). Things like electric windows and door sensors etc. work fine now since it has been replaced.
This has just got me so confused if it will work the first time but not after that???
One of the connections is slightly loose but I don't see this making a difference but just thought I'd mention it just in case.
Any suggestions to what would cause this?

You have to make sure you use the same exact Audi part number for your car. I know there are slight differences between each revision. What I would do is just replace the pump in your original Central Lock Module and use the same circuit board. The pump is held on by the rubber nipples, just pull them out and splice the wires. There is also a possibility that you bought a faulty module, this happened to me twice!
