CEL flashed on now it's gone

your wires are correct. The camshaft position sensor is on the top front of the head on the passenger side. if you pop the top timing belt cover off on that side (the small one with 3 clips), you will see it to the right of the TB...replacing it is not difficult and you can get to it without removing anything else, except the cold air intake held in by 2 phillips screws. the plug is to the right of the sensor when looking at it and you can just unplug it. It is held on by (2) 10mm bolts (don't over tighten when putting them back on-they will strip).
change the positioning sensor 1st, clear codes, drive again, and see if the evap code comes back. A lot of times it will go away, it is caused by the misfire....but only sometimes.

Thank you Marky, one other question
I have VAG-Com Lite was was able to chase down a misfire issue. Should I be concerned if the misfire count is 1 and goes back to zero and back to 1 every two minutes at idle. I was in measuring blocks and wanted to check all cylinders and only saw this issue on cylinder 2, all the other cylinders were 0 counts.
The coil packs were changed recently and no CEL is on, other than that it seems to run fine

Check the spark plug wires by swapping the wires around to check to see if a wire is bad.
Then you could Swap the spark plug from the one that's misfiring with another, then check again. See if it follows the plug or the wire.
Use your VAG each time to see if it stays on Cylinder 2 or follows the plug or the wire.....
Clogged injector could also be the issue, but it's NOT a huge issue, but since you're tracking down and isolating problems...why not....

Well the Check engine light is back again, getting code 17801 P1393 which i believe is related to Iginition coil output stage 1 . Is this code related to the igintion coil module in front of the engine that the six wires plug into?. As mentioned before, the plugs and wires were changed last week so i don't think it related to that, should I just change the ICM or could it be something else?
I had this car for about a month and keep having issues..i don't know, they bad mouth American cars, this is my first import and not really impressed ....never had issues with my prior american cars before...I guess these german cars are a little tempermental.

The ROSS cable works correctly. The Ebay cable may be tricky to get functioning and if you do get it, it's not guaranteed to clear the codes or pull every code. For the most part, it works for $10, though

Hate it when I see postings left unanswered, so here it goes. The problem was the iginition coil, the old one was a Huco and my mechanic said they are not the best, replaced it with a Bremi and all seems well now. He also replaced a bunch of vacumm hoses that were dried and cracked, all codes gone and running smooth.
