CEL been on for 60k miles
My CEL has been on since I bought the car. (01 A4 1.8t). About 60k miles ago. Just replaced timing chain tensioner that was bad causing cam position sensor code. Fixed all that. No timing codes. Now I have one code. Mixture too lean. Checked vacuum hoses. Could not find anything. When I clear the codes car is faster and you can hear turbo. When the CEL comes on again car is slower. Turbo makes different sound. Is this running in "limp mode"? Any ideas? Have appointment next week at dealership if I can not figure it out.

Yeah its a pretty messed up situation. Bought car CEL came on week later. Cam position sensor. Replaced twice. Came back on. Took to dealer. They told me timing chain tensioner was bad and my timing was off. So I drove it like that because estimated $1200 worth of work. Finally replaced timing belt kit, chain tensioner, etc. Now mixture too lean code but no more timing codes.

ummm try gettting some fuel injector cleaner... but get some good ****... get either bgk44 or motul fuel injector cleaner, but make sure u put it in with full tank of gas.. if u do like half tank, it could actually **** ur injectors up (its really strong ****) lol... and then after u do that, when u fill up again, i would suggest replacing plugs too.. jsut to be safe
