Couldn't tell you if the bearing was damaged from hitting the curb. Mine likely was damaged judging by the fact that the rear lower control arm bent like 45 degrees from my crash.

Whether or not the bearing is damaged from pulling the hub might depend on the equipment/method used to pull it. I bring the spindle to the shop when they do my wheel bearings, and my guess is they do end up removing the inner race from the old bearing.
