Hey need some help please, car ran fine the day before yesterday but made it to school yesterday but when I left have way home the car started to sputter and slow down. Felt like it was getting no fuel, it slowly went slow so got it to auto zone, the car would start and idle but when I tried to give gas it sputtered little and died kept on doing that so towed it home, thought it was fuel prob cause it would start but wouldn't let me give it any gas. so now getting fuel to fuel rail bc I disconnected part of the fuel line to fuel rail fuel was spraying out when my bro was turning over.. So that would say the filter and pump are still good, but could it be clogged fuel injectors or what havent really tried more trouble shooting yet , just thought see what yall think thanks and let me know if anyone can help

I'm also having starter problems and just made a thread about it but our problems don't seem the same so it may not help you at all. do you happen to have a 96 or 97 2.8? if so it could be your egr valve. your oil level is alright? I don't know if seafoaming would make a difference but it's a cheap and easy try and you only really have ten bucks to lose

 

Naw its a 99 1.8t and where is the throttle position switch anyone, need this car running soon. checked fuel rail and doesent seem fuel pump/filter could it be cloged injectors or clean plugs or what

 

have you checked all boost piping? this happened to me two months ago. I scraped a parking curb with my lower charge air piping and loosened one of the hose clamps which later came loose. This resulted in sputtering and the car died every time I tried to get it out of the intersection. 1.8s go crazy when there's any boost issue because they're such small engines

pulled plugs today and they were little worse than I thought so going to change those and clean my fuel injectors and check all hoses, also told to check for vacuum leak anyone can help me on that one

 

Id say boost leak. I vented my stock dv once, in ran like garbage. Check the hoses from your airbox all the way to your manifold.

 

Ill do that thanks, plugs dident help but were pretty bad and check engine light came on that good sign so ill run the codes today and see what they say thanks again every one
