car died - no oil changes for a year or so =)

it is what it is.

the oil level was pretty low, as expected.

the timing belt has been replaced (at 100k, now is at 215k) as per the write up.

in your guys' opinion, is this worth saving? i think i would need a new turbo and while im at it, replace the belts/pump/tensioner again. anything else that could have gone wrong?

What color is the car. I got first dibs on front fenders and hood if its black or silver. Oh and rain trays.

well, depending on if there was friction in the cylinders, which there most likely was, you could have worn piston rings, gunk in the crank, etc. i'd just pull it apart and see what it looks like, theres no real way of telling until you do that. it's going to be way more than just a bad turbo and a few belts.

If your in a screw it attitude, just fill the entire block with gas/seafoam, and let it sit for a few days. Drain, let it air out, and refill with oil. I saw that on a 1.8t vw thread.

What write up did you follow that told you to let your timing belt go for 115k miles!?
