1997 tqm

car suddenly dies. i was pressing the gas, felt like no boost and then, all of a sudden, lights go on and the car dies.

ive neglected the oil changes for a year or so, had mobil 0-40.

i want to know...

do i just need to replace my turbo?

If it has to do with the oil then you need an engine.

so, i was in the market for a new car anyway but do you guys think this is salvagable?

im thinkin, seafoam the engine, do some flushes, replace the turbo, and BAM!!! back on the road

 

If you managed to not change the oil for "a year or so" i'm gonna assume the turbo is junk too and the timing belt has never been changed either. I don't think you're saving this one man.

did you check the oil level after the car died? i bet that it burned all of it during that whole year ^^
