Default car is bucking when I try to crack 10 psi of boost?

I have an Audi 1.8t b5 model I have straight pipe exhaust with 3 inch downpipe manual boost controller and cold air intake when I try to crack 10 psi of boost or more my car bucks and cuts out how do I fix that so I can run more boost would a chip be the best way to go or a tune? also was wondering if the APR chip was the way to go or is there a better chip that is cheaper and better?

We can't help you if you don't tell us what year your car is, but most likely you're hitting the overboost threshold. Toss that MBC and get a proper tune. You tune choices also depend on what year your car is, if it's a '00 or '01 there's a massive private tuner community that will write a tune better than any of the big-name guys for less than half the price. '99 and older you're pretty much stuck with Revo, APR, GIAC, etc.

You need to get a proper tune on the ecu. you cannot just crank the boost up and expect the ecu to adapt and make moar power

I agree with removing the MBC and going back to stock.
I got an APR stage 1 chip a couple weeks ago and I'm suuuuper happy with it, albeit I paid a lot of money for it. I didn't know about the private tuner's but for having the 2000 ATW engine I'm very pleased- hitting 20psi and then staying steady at 17psi is such a great feeling.

A chip is a tune.

Keep in mind that if you're going to chip it any small problem you've been putting off (or not known about) will be accentuated. Personally I spent a couple days getting the ducks in a row then chipped it, then spend another couple days going through it.

(oil, regapping the spark plugs to the new recommended gap, looking for busted vacuum lines, coils, etc)
