Default cant get f'ing pinch bolt out!

well so far i got only my tie rods changed on both sides and only one side of my new upper control arms on, this over a 9hr span so far . i really messed up when i was trying to get the bolt out, took a 1/16 cut off wheel on my grinder and cut the ends of the bolt through the slots in the spindle now only the center is left. i tried just pounding it out and mushroomed the one end, then i tried drilling a small hole in hopes to weaken it and nothing. i even tried heating it up just a lil bit and nothing, the last thing im guna try is threading the hole thats drilled and try use it to pull its self out. anybody else have any ideas or share how you got urs out?

Agreed, Drilling the bolt out was the only way I was able to get the bolt out.

I had to use an oxy torch combined with a hammer and punch to get mine out. I ended up snapping the little mount for it in the process... whoops!

Take the whole spindle housing out of the car and put it in your vise where you can work on it properly.

I'd assume that you've already turned your steering wheel to full lock so you can have full access to the pin. If so, use an air chisel with a blunt tip to chisel it out. Or you can use a sledgehammer and have someone use a pair of long pliers to hold a blunt tipped instrument up to the pinch bolt(i.e. screwdriver as long as it won't slip). It's a true PITA, sorry to hear but good luck!

well i finally got them out, the one side id been working on only took a 1/2hr to get out and together. the other took bout 1 3/4hr, but need less to say what a royal pain and i sure hope they last another 100k! i now only have to go back and figure out why my abs light set off, probably loose connection from hitting the spindle. and loosen up the mounting bolts on the control arms, i tightened them while the suspension was at droop and not compressed so i kinda have a lil higher clearance in the front. but thanks to all for the help!
