he blew his engine. if he's doing this himself, this will be the more cost effective method. you can't get much for an a4 with no engine

well go for it and let us know how everything goes but i feel like you are going to spend more money and time equal to purchasing one.
sell your parts make more money but thats my opinion.

i actually found a s4 engine really cheap with tranny but i was wondering if it would fit in without anymore mods or parts

 

if the 1.8t engine required other parts, what makes you think the S4 engine wont? of course it will, probably most of the same parts mentioned

 

he asked that because its going from a V6 to another V6 so dont be a dick about it. but its probably true that you will need all new parts. i say try it if you have the money, i would if i did.

 

i realize that is why he asked. i wasnt being a dick, i was just trying to get him to think a little

but i agree. to me that seems MUCH more worthwhile than swaping in a 1.8T. however, I imagine that it will be somewhat harder to track down all of the parts that youre gonna need from an S4 since theyre not nearly as common (unless you buy everything new)
