Default Can anyone give me a ball park estimate on how much this will be to fix?

Hey everyone. I have a (bad) exhaust leak which is causing my CEL to come on. On the driver side exhaust, the pipe that connects to the cat (after the flex pipe) has broken all around the flange and has separated from the cat.

I was told it would be quite a bit of $$ to fix. My question is: has anyone had any similar problems and how much did it cost to fix??

More Information for BOSAL 099024

This is the section im assuming needs to be replaced. (Unless this is only for the cat specifically)

Thanks everyone!

Also, I would have posted pictures but I havent been able to get underneath the car because of snow and slush. If you have any pics, etc that would help that would be great.

They might be able to weld it. If not, the whole pipe needs replacement. Probably several hundred bucks for the part and a couple hundred in labor.

sounds like a good time to just replace it with something new if you want to go the mod route. no need in spending the money to fix it just to get rid of it later.

I'm the devil is right on, I replaced the section of pipe with the flex bulb in it myself for the cost of the pipe. It is the tightest of spaces so lots of patience and some specific tolls were required but I did it in about 2 hours on my sisters hoist!
I was a formula race car mechanic so am used to tight spaces and am always amazed how many parts reg mechanics remove to get at fixes! More things off means more to remember to put back properly!
