calling out all headlight and hid experts please! :(

Ah, but there's precedent of people with illegally bright headlights being held responsible for accidents they cause due to blinding.

I think dragonrage was referring to the guy who installed HIDs in ALL of his lights on his Tacoma... halogen reflectors... that would be quite blinding.

I could almost guarantee you its the connectors that's the problem. It's probably loose from the inside, where the leads arent making contact with the bulb positive/negative leads. Something like what I've drawn for you.

Unfortunately i am having similar problem. My driver side sometimes does not power on. My passenger side never had a problem. I have to tun off and on for both to power on. I swapped 4300 bulb to 6000k when I got the car. Kept the same OEM ballasts on the S4 and never messed around with wiring... Any advice would help a lot. I dont know if its ballasts or not.

Vgo, thanks brotha, appreciate the diagram and advice, I'll look into that and see if that makes a difference. As for some of you others, who are overly EMO about the lights, get over yourselves pass out some hugs between each other or something Metalgirl, my bad, MAN, and Dragonsbreath, er rage, calm your your *****, nobodies been blinded by MY lights, there for backroads, camping etc, not running all the lights all at once, only run my low beams on regular roads etc, and as previously mentioned, angled correctly, nobodies being blinded (as much as you couple girl scouts hope they are). Thanks to the rest of you for actually having something worth while to say, I'll let you know if I have any luck.

I love it when the noobs with 2 whole posts start bashing.
Let me make this clear: Installing ANY aftermarket HID system in ANY car is illegal. Some of us can safely get away with it because we have projector headlights, which have a cut off, which can be adjusted properly, and not blind people. Using HID lights in reflector housings is not safe, because it splashes everywhere, and no amount of adjustment can fix it. And honestly, HID lights in a reflector housing makes you look like an *** clown, especially if they have a blueish tint. Most people will know you're just an imposter.
nine11warrior, get your panties out of a bunch, and learn your role. Using your second post to start name calling and showing that you're just PMSing is a good way to find yourself not getting any help, and generally unwelcome in our community.

I run 35W HIDs in my Subaru in all 3 sets of lights with the factory light aim and they are not blinding they're bright don't get me wrong but not to the point of causing an accident. Plus factory HIDs are 55W set ups anyways as far as I can tell. I think the main issue is in the relay that controls the lights in the car you may need one from a newer model I'm pretty sure the DRLs could be what is giving you issues. Just to make life easier the relay part number for my 97 is 8D0-919-471 and the one for a 2000-2004 is 4B0-919-471-A so this is what leads me to believe the older relay maybe the trouble b.t.w the location of that relay is 4 and 5 according to my parts catalog ETKA. I'll update if and when I find out anything and please if you find something else out let me know so I don't blow a $100 on this relay lol.

eh I don't know man, there are far better ways that dragonrage couldve made his point. I'd be pissed too if I was trying to learn about something and was told that I should die by someone who judged my actions without knowing the whole story. Being a noob doesn't automatically imply being a whipping bitch.
