buying an avant tomorrow would like some opinions

Find another shop. $120 would barely get the bumper off in most shops. Now in the video that guy takes 6 minutes but I think it's speeded up a tad. Most indy shops would be around $600 to $700 for the job. An important question to ask would be if they have ever done a timing belt on an Audi.

I picked it up today. It's pretty stout tranny shift smooth and engine sounds great. The only real bad thing is the head liights.there pretty oxidized and barely any light gets out.should I get bulbs or a whole new housing all together?

Go get a 3M kit and polish the lenses. $30 and they will be like new.

Yeah the center screen gets a pixilated. You can send it out for repair or just turn it off and live with it. Nothing in there you just have to know anyway.

Rather than buying any of those headlight polishing "kits", just pick up some wet/dry sandpaper and some exterior polyurethane. The polishing will make them look good for a couple of months until the freshly exposed plastic is once again oxidized by UV exposure. I have done several cars by wet sanding the lenses beginning at 400 and moving up to 2000 in small increments. Finish it off with exterior polyurethane diluted 1:1 with mineral spirits. The UV inhibitors in the poly will keep the lens clear for many years.
I did this on my A4 3 years ago and the lenses are still as clear as the day I did it. I did a better job of documenting the process while doing the retrofit on my wife's Subaru.

Edit: Found a pic from when I cleared the lenses on the Audi. Sorry, no before pics.

I used Minwax "Spar Urethane". Being glass lenses the fog lights are a whole different animal. Cerium oxide is used to polish glass. you must also cool the glass very carefully while polishing to prevent it from cracking. That being said, I did coat some glass lenses at one point with the polyurethane to fill in the pits in the surface. I followed it up with Lamin-X covers. The result was a big improvement, but certainly not as good as polishing the lens.
