I offer built engines to the customers specs. I can have them built by eurocode or thru 034 Motorsports.
Becarefull when buying parts first and then talking to an engine builder, not all of them will use your parts. Plus not all shops that build engines can actually do a good job doing the machine work on a 1.8 block. Plenty of people have found this out the hard and expensive way.

I have a pretty reputable guy around me that i think is going to do the job. So far i believe we are going to tear down my high milege aeb for the job. But i was wondering how doing this compared to just buying a motor fully built and ready to be dropped into my car... prices seem like they would be similiar. BTW T3T4A4 is also me, i was having trouble getting onto my normal user name.

You are looking at ~$4-5k for a built engine and only ~$1500 in parts for a rebuild parts and the depending on the labor charge for building it and porting, you should be only looking at another $1500 and then the labor to pull and install the engine.

Egh, I thought I'd seem 2.0's going for $10,000 almost! Unfortunately I don't know of any good shops in the midwest I'd trust for the job. Everything I hear of is out west. I'd like to get my hands on a 97-99 a4, pulling the motor and sending it out altogether. I gotta research the subject a bit further before making the final decision
