hello! So I currently have a 1997 Audi A4 1.8l. 5-speed.I have to put a new clutch in it, so I'm taking the engine out!(don't have a lift) since this is no longer my daily driver I would like to make it fast. Any suggestions on what to get and from where to get it? Already have a straight pipe to a flow master. Engine was put in about 2 years ago and timing belt, water pump, cam seals, crank seal. Have all been done. But now that i have a decent income i would like to make it fast. Any helpful suggestions would be great! Thanks guys!

 

Best first step is a chip and diverter valve. If you read the sticky posts at the top of this subforum and the top of the general A4 and TT forums, you'll get a wealth of info that'll get you started in the right direction. For your clutch, talk with Mike Hood at Ringer Racing (he's a member here and offers a discount to AF members). Talk with him about your realistic expectations for the car and he can set you up now with the right clutch to handle it.
