Default BT shopping list...

I'm still trying to put together a good (but not expensive) string of parts for a gt28 turbo kit but i am in no way an expert at this. so if you could would you look over the parts list i've put together and tell me first if i'm missing anything and seccond if i've made any bad choices... thwnks a ton.

1 gt28rs
2 forge hybrid dv/bov
3 turboxs mbc
4 A'pexi turbo timer
5 the e-bay copy manifold
6 God speed fmic (also e-bay)
7 Delphi 440cc injectors
8 neuspeed afpr
9 used 3" VR6 maf
10 walbro 255lph fuel pump
11 K&N cone filter
12 Borla 3" muffler (i've got a friend who can pipe it for me)
13 e-bay test pipe
i'd also like to get all the gauges needee too like air-fuel mix and boost of course. But there ya go that's all i've got so far. Help?

well, if your getting the gt28rs then you'll need a new exhaust manifold as well, the stock one will not work obviously. and programming is an obvious thing as well, unitronic has the best bt files for B5's. you'll want bigger injectors for the file as well, 630cc.

what kind of car do you have?

year, transmission, engine

what have you done to the car so far?

I am guessing you have a 1998 Audi A4 1.8T quattro manual...like mine...lol

so, ummm, heres a suggestion.....

install all the parts that you can before making the switch....

like the DV, turbo timer, fmic, exhaust and all the guages you want....

after you buy the mods listed above, then you will have to either peice together a set-up or buy a kit....

well, your best bet is to install any supporting mods that you can before making the conversion to a BT

thats what im doin, it makes it so you can slap on your turbo hardware, tune it and go. you cant really tune it if you dont have all your supporting mods on, or if you do you will have to re-tune it once you put them on. its just easier this way.

I'm planning on getting everything i can before getting the actuall turbo and what it needs FOR SURE, this will all be done in steps, and i did think about tuning but didn't know where to go looking for it.. This is just to make sure all these parts will work together in the end i don't want to start buying things that don't take me closer to my eventual goal. Ya know counter productive isn't it? And the manifold is on there i'm just going with the cheapo e bay one cause i'm not made of money. Haha

bad idea with a bt setup, you should just get it right the first time. don't buy a copy mani from ebay.

i've read that they're actually not bad... well maybe by the time i'll need it i'll have enough dough to not skimp. Hopefully. Also (to everyone) i was thinking of getting W/M set up before i go bt.. Good idea? Bad idea? anyone?
