Default Brake Pads, Wired or Not?

I am trying to replace my front brake pad and I am getting several different results. The recommended pads are either wired with square connection, wired with oval connection, or without a wire. Is there any way I can identify which brake pad is the right one? I inspected the caliper and could not see if the pad included a wire or not. By the way, I have a 1998 (1998.5 model) 2.8 A4 Quattro.

Thanks!

P.S.

If you don't know the answer to this question dont worry I'm sure ImTheDevil will answer it.

Lol you guys crack me up. But screw it I'm thinking yours doesn't have them, since my early 99 doesn't either. If not, you can get any pads you want and cut the wires off. The wires/connectors should be visible either through the wheel or by lifting the car up (with a real jack, not that erector-set turd in the trunk), and inspecting the caliper assembly.

Yep it's doubtful you'll have connectors for wear sensors
