Default Brake pad sensor question

I have a 2001 a4 1.8t quattro, pretty sure i have almost every option possible too.

So im assuming i have brake pad wear sensors. Without taking it apart can anyone tell me if i have the oval or round ( those are the 2 possible types ive seen) and also i think i read somewhere you can get deletes for them. Does anyone have a link?

Fyi: im planning on getting the hawk ceramic pads for front and rear. So far i have 312mm zimmerman crossdrilled/slotted for the front, and r1concepts crossdrilled/slotted coming in the mail this week for the rear. Also already have mjm eurospec tt carriers.

Thanks

It's actually both. It has one square end and one round end. Kind of looks like an arched doorway. If you get the pads specifically for a 2001 with sensors, it will come with the round-square sensor connector. I just bought PBR Deluxe Ceramics and just changed mine over last weekend and I also have a 2001.

To delete the sensors you just cut and connect the 2 wires on the car's harness. Simple

^This. ECS sells "sensor eliminator pigtails" or some such but its just a female connector with the wires looped on the end of it lol

Ahh. Makes sense so the ones that have sensors have a wire in the pad and when that wears thru the connection is broke and the pad light will come on. I"ll just splice them then.

Anyone know a place with the best price on hawk ceramics for front+rear?

Thanks

Default brake pads,snsors or not

I have a 99 a4 2.8 Quattro v6 how can I tell if mine has sensors or not/ I don't want to order the wrong part! although,my abs mod is shot like a lot of a4's this year&my brake light constantly blinks! I was reading one of the forums and it suggested to top off my brake fluid,so I did and the light still blks constantly! so I'm thinking that either my car has sensors on the pads or because the abs mod is shot it's triggering the brake light? any help would be greatly helpful so I don't have to spend money on unneasary parts, thank yu very much ERIC

Low brake fluid or worn brake pads cause the light to come on.
