brake help

wouldnt i need bigger rims for the a8 upgrade?
thanks for all the input im just trying to piece something together until summer when ill actually start wrenchin on my baby

I remember reading that the A8 mod will work if you have at least 16" wheels, so you should be okay.

A8 brakes fit under stock 16" wheels. If you have 15" wheels you'll have to upgrade.

okay jw wasnt 100% what do you need for this a8 upgrade. ive searched and havent come up with anything maybe im not searching for the right thing

ECS and PureMS sell them as an upgrade-in-a-box. Two A8 rotors and two TT caliper carriers. Choose upgraded pads of your choice (extra cost), reuse your calipers and mounting hardware.

so technically its not an upgrade its upgraded hardware. ive always gone by the caliper. therefore bigger caliper=more pistons=more brake surface
is that right or am i just talking out my ***
sorry if i sound like a dick the girlfriends being a B****

what about the blauparts U slotted brake kits for 183?
anyone running these

It is an upgrade because the larger rotor means the caliper is moved outward, creating a larger torque-arm effect when braking.

didnt someone post a link that upgrading just the front brakes doesnt necessarily mean you'll stop faster? You offset the balance between the front and rear brakes. Something like that.

i gotcha yeah if i do anything its going to be both front and rear i dont want my car nose diving everytime i break but then agian im not sure if theres a valve in the brake system that makes the breaking even
