BOV mythbusted! tested on a VW 1.8t
#2
Sorry but what myth is busted exactly, there are couple that i know of but the two that are addessed arent really myths but common knowledge first being the hole dv vs. bov whats better. Ill admit im more at home with naturally asperated v8s then turbo 4s but from my research bov is better if the air is pre intercooler becouse then your not just reheating air again and again by feeding it through the turbo. But if a post intercooler rv you loose no power as long as your intercooler is cooling air to a near or better then atnospherec temps or better (aka nitrogen cooling). I was hoping they would awnser weather or not a bov on a 1.8t would really mess with computer or not as thats the main thing keeping me from running one but they didnt.
p.s. what they did at the end was pure ricer bullsh*t

it's not the fact oh letting air into the atmosphere or recirc, it's about speed of release. since these audis are all computer controlled, the computer picks up the sudden huge change in pressure difference and decides to freak out

i know i know, but the way I look at it they are not Audi/vw fans they just had that car and wanted to see, they tested 3 valves and all the results were the same, they even showed how an "aging" Dv will decrease boost. Wish they had the audi TT valve. idk take it with a grain of salt but I am not sure they fabricate this test.
idk if what I said above makes sense I am a little ...yeah this morning lol

Their test proves nothing, the issue is the AFR when reducing the throttle which is when the valve opens.
