k so i have put in my electronic boost controller and set everything up, but i still have a problem. It will not let me run any more boost than 5psi...i set it to 10 just to see, and it peaks at 10 and bogs down to 5psi and holds???? then i put a manual controller on and set it so it wasnt affecting the boost, but when i got on it, it over reved to 22psi...but if i didnt get on it it could hold up to like 18psi...? any ideas as to what is going on? my only thoughts are is i still only have the stock wastegate...??? have asked lots of people in the past two days and put 15hrs into it with all the guys at the shop what the hell is happening?

 

are you chipped? if your on stock software then your going into limp.. the stock software wont take anything over 14 i think

 

im not chipped, but it wont even let me hold 10 with the electronic controller...but with the manual i can hole anything up to 18 with out getting on it really...???

 

thats not good for the car... i would recommend getting chipped... what year is your car? if its got a MAP sensor then you can do the diode mod and push about 15 safely

 

its a 99 1.8t
and we got the diodes to do it, but we couldnt find the correct wires going into the intake...do you know the colors?

 

you dont have a map sensor. thats why.. i think 2000 and 2001 have them

this means you cant do the diode mod, and you need to get chipped to safely run more boost

 

ok....but then why when i put on a manual boost controller, it lets me boost as much as i want?

 

does the car buck when it gets over 14?
