Boost cut level???
Ive got a 1997 Audi A4 1.8Tquattro manual with an AEB engine code and my wife has a 1998 Audi A3 1.8T Auto with the engine code AGU. Ive done my search but can not get to a conclusion. Also dont go telling me whats bad or good please.Im using a manual boost controller jus for diagnosis purposes. I just want a basic answer if anyone knows. I am not able to boost any more than 10psi max on my A4 before it cuts out but my wifes car is able to run 14-16 psi and no boost cut even if im running open boost( ripping the vacuum hose off the wastegate actuator)... Im just wondering if all AGU code motors in the A3 have a higher boost cut point or is it just my wifes one (meaning it could be chipped or etc)???
Also why am i able to run open boost. If someone else has the AGU engine A3 could they please try ripping there vacuum hose off the wastegate actuator and tell me if there car cuts out under boost
AND PLEASE DO THIS WHEN THE CAR IS AT OPERATING TEMPRTURE
Any help would be highly appreciated.. Thanks

RE: Boost cut level???
i have the same problem with the wastegate pipe off i can boost 18psi peak but it starts to buck like mad after 2 or 3 times from cold. when using MBC i can also only boost to 10psi without it cutting and being a bucking bronco. I think it maybe something to do with the timing setting in the ecu not providing enough fuel to match the rammed air intak or something???
