Body Kit Questions

yeah, it would look nice. but ill be honest, your comment in my thread was more of insult then an opinion. i understand that u don't like aftermarket anything, but just because others do it, does not make it bad and can look very nice.
if you don't like something just say, im a fan of the oem look and u should try this instead of bashing on a guys car.

And sorry to the OP for getting off topic

Aledelic,
just remember, if you do convert your A4 body to an S4, it will look like an S4.
However, when you pull up that light and theres a guy revving wanted to get a drag going with you, hes gunna think you have an S4, but wait, you only have an A4!!
I Agree 10000% that you should get the S4 kit as I want to as well (it looks so good) but many people who know what S4's are will think that you have one too. If you dont plan on racing that much or plan to do performance mods in the future, then do it. But otherwise, i dont know and spend your money on something else, like a K04!!!

Which is why I said I would not want an "s-line" B5.

well yes, for the B6's , 7's, and 8's, you can purchase an a4 with the s-line package. But for the B5 gen, there is no s-line, so I figured well since there are no s-line B5's, then he must be talking about an S4.

Thanks for the support Aledelic. You guys have definitely talked me out of getting a body kit. Most of them do look pretty ricey. I do like the OEM look, but I think tasteful mods can enhance the overall appearance of our cars. I do plan on doing some performance mods in the future, but the real reason I'm replacing the front bumper is because it was damaged from my accident.
I'm open to constructive critisism about my car, as I think most people on this forum should be. It helps to get feedback from different points of view. At the same time if something looks good to you, then do it. After all, it's your car, and your opinion matters more than anyone else's. If you think a giant wing on your trunk and an unpainted paper mache bumper will make your car look sick, then go for it!
I think I'll wait on the side skirts and rear for now. I have other mods that will take priority. I'm tired of looking at the duck tape on my front bumper, so that's getting changed out ASAP.
I also like the idea of a wider stance, which is why I want to get new wheels too. I had 18s in mind. What's the widest we should go with on our cars? (8") (8.5") (9") (9.5")?

I'm glad I could help persuade you out of the body kit. These are euro cars and don't need ricey stylings to them at all. As for your bumper, if I were you I would just take the time and look for a good deal on a used A4 bumper that's the same color as yours. And also don't make the mistake like many people of getting new wheels before suspension. You may be happy with the look of huge wheel gap over a nice set of wheels but I know I wouldn't be. I have seen people put at least 9.5" wide wheels on these cars. Offset is a huge importance when thinking about putting wider wheels on, or any wheels. They likely will rub without rolling the fenders / trimming the liners. Stretched tires (fitting a tire meant for a thinner wheel) may also be necessary. I'm no stance or wheel guru though. I'd recommend checking different stance threads for more information and inspiration. Vortex is probably a better place for this kind of stuff than AF
