so which 2.8 30 valve a4 would be the most reliable and easiest to work on? sorry for all the questions guys, just askin you who have experience lol I appreciate it!!!

Thought the 12v was more reliable. I think the 1.8t is easy to work on.

uhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'd go with the 2001 for no reason but the fact that it's newer. The late '98 engine is the same as the 2001 (unless they had changes within the 30v years, someone correct me if I'm wrong), so reliability and working on them will be the same. Make sure the '98 you're looking at has the 30v (you can check out how to tell by the exterior here) and just go with whichever has a better maintenance history.

Oh god i freaking hate the cats and flex pipes on the 2.8. But i would take the 01 with out a doubt much better year
