Default Big Problems TRANSMISSION

G-day all
well for starters i have a 96" A4 1.8 20v, non turbo due to p platers cannot drive em here, anyway my problem is that the automatic transmission went, not to big of a problem, got a new one put in and now when i try to take off it jumps and carrys on and even stalls. I cant put my foot on the brake to just sit there like your meant to be able to as it just stalls. Now there is no codes what so ever coming up so anyone have any ideas what the problem might be??

Does it stall when in park also or just when it is in drive at a stand still?

Just in drive, or Reverse or 1, 2 , 3. And yea at a stand still. Once its moving its fine for what i can tell so far. Haven't really drove it to much in case more damage occurs if any has. Also theres no slipping through the gears. Also had a new torque converter put in with the trans. FYI car hasnt even done a 100km since trans been installed mechanics couldnt figure out the problem and wanted to send the throttle body away for $1500 but may not have fixed the problem so screw that idea lol.
I was thinking it might be the TCM but it sits under the rear seat and not on the passenger floor so it doesnt come in contact with moisture and all contacts are fine plus it was working fine with the old trans.

Sounds like these guys are just throwing **** against the wall. You need someone with a VAG-COM who can take some codes. VAG-COM would tell you why you're stalling. That's a big job, and some sensor is unplugged or damaged.

If you sit still in gear and keep your foot on the gas, does it feel like the T Converter is engaged? Can you over power the T converter with more gas pedal?

Unfortunately, that does make sense. It all tends to make you think something is screwy with that T converter doesn't it?

yea thats more than likely although when they ran tests on it before they installed it said it was fine but hey could be bullshitting me to. A mate was telling me something bout a stall speed sensor or something? not quite sure what he meant by it though as ive never heard of it before or if its even relevant

Gotta wonder what kind of fluid they put in there. Those ZF trannies are pretty picky about what fluid they run.
