Big Problems: Clicking/buzzing sound, low power, whole car shakes
Car: 1998 Audi A4, 140k miles, Southbend stage 3 clutch (less than 2000 miles on it, rear main seal also replaced at this time), miltek exhaust, ecode tp w/non-foulers, APR chip, carbino intake, APR DV
No CEL
Problem 1: The car has noticeably less power than previously throughout the band. When I accelerate moderately I hear an audible blowing sound coming from the general area of the turbo. It does not just sound like spooling to me. When I let off the gas, I hear a fast clicking/buzzing coming from the passenger side of the vehicle. It is fairly loud, especially when driving next to a wall or something that reflects the sound. The sound is present until I hit the gas again.
I am in the process of buying a boost gauge and will update with the readings once that is all set up.
From what I have read, this sounds like a potential wastegate issue.
Problem 2: Sometimes while I am accelerating pretty hard the entire car will shake hard. Also, sometimes when starting from a stop or letting the clutch out when changing gears there is a mild vibrating/shaking just as the clutch engages. I just had a Southbend stage 3 put in, and the shop inspected the flywheel and said it looked fine (they didn't have the tool to resurface it because of the lip on it). It sounds like flywheel to me, but I would really hate to have to pay to have the tranny opened up again. I just spent a ton on the clutch job!
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!
