Better than therapy

Better than therapy
So, due to a nasty infection I got in my foot while traveling home on leave, which turns out to be MRSA, my leave has been extended by a week. I was supposed to fly back today.
Just before I deployed, I had to replace my leaking rear calipers. The new calipers put the pads in a slightly different position, so the rotors chewed through the pads in a couple days. I was about to deploy, and the registration was about to expire, so I parked the car in the garage, gave her a hug, and told her I would be back, and I would miss her while I was gone.
For the first week home, I couldn't drive due to pain meds, so the car just sat there and smiled at me every time I went in the garage, much like a puppy when he expects you to play with him, but I had to let her sit... no insurance, no registration, and the no rear brakes. She wasn't happy, and neither was I.
The wife's car was due an oil change, and my wife, bless her soul, suggested I fix my brakes since I wasn't doing anything, and she had to go back to work anyway. So, that's what I did yesterday, new rear pads and rotors.
Then, on a whim, I called the insurance company, explained I wanted insurance for a week, and they obliged. So, today, I'm headed to the DMV and I'm going to register my baby.
So, like I was saying, working on my car is the best therapy money can buy, and driving her later today will be heaven!
I'm also going to be looking online and probably buying a nice boost gauge and some HID headlights... I have a little money saved up, I think I can splurge a little!

Yeah! Lol, whenever I have a bad day at school or work I just spend an hour in the garage. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, cleaning, taking something apart and putting it back together, it just makes me feel better!
Have a good week before you get sent back!

I'm thinking the left vent on the center cluster of vents. I drive with my left hand on the wheel all the time, and I cannot see my left vent while I'm driving. Hopefully the gauge I ordered comes in and I can get it installed before I head back across the pond. I'll post up some pics on whatever I end up doing.

BTW, got the car legit to drive again, and took my little guy out for lunch, returned the loaner brake caliper tools, and a car wash. While cruising the long way home, he asked to go to the park (as we were driving by a park) and I agreed. Of course, we didn't go to that park, we went to the big park that was a spirited 20 minute drive away! Damn it feels good to be driving my car again!
