before I rip this thing up!
Hi Guys, long story, but I bought an 01 a4 quattro 2.8 5v 79k miles wrecked at right front, not too bad of damage but the timing cover was broken and a small mark on cam spoke...Car will sputter for a half second but no start, While disassembling I figured I'd do the timing belt, which looks good (all teeth there) as core support needs replacement and will be off...when checking timing I found the pass side timing to be off half a turn or so.I checked compression and has none on pass side, I moved the cam into correct timing (Large holes inside and leved with straight edge) still no start and no compression on pass side,.,.,driver side has 185 compression...I'm thinking bent valves...which ones are the most likely bent? How much do they cost? where to get them?...Opinions are welcom if you've lived thru this maybe you can save me from pitfalls...thanks Cliff
